Privacy policy

Wrk Less ChatLaunch (“ChatLaunch”, “we”) is a Shopify app from Wrk Less. This page describes what we store when a merchant installs the app. It is not Retell’s privacy policy.

Who this applies to

Merchants who install ChatLaunch on a Shopify store. Shoppers who chat on that storefront talk to the merchant’s Retell agent, not to Wrk Less.

What we store

• Shopify shop domain and offline session tokens needed to keep the app installed.
• The merchant’s Retell secret API key, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. We never send that key to the browser.
• The merchant’s Retell public key, chat agent ID, and whether chat is shown or hidden. Those values are also written to Shopify metafields so the theme embed can load the widget.
• A flag that the merchant confirmed ChatLaunch in the theme editor for this install.

We do not store shopper chat transcripts, names, emails, or phone numbers from storefront conversations.

Where shopper chat lives

Storefront messages are processed by Retell’s chat widget and stored in the merchant’s own Retell account. Wrk Less cannot read those conversations. Manage, export, or delete them in Retell. Retell’s terms and privacy policy apply to that data.

How we use this data

Only to run ChatLaunch: authenticate the Shopify app, create or publish a Retell chat agent the merchant asks us to create, and show or hide the theme widget. We do not sell merchant or shopper data. We do not use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

When the merchant uninstalls ChatLaunch, we delete the Shopify sessions and shop record for that store, including encrypted Retell keys. Shopify also sends a shop/redact webhook about 48 hours later; we delete any remaining shop row for that domain.

Uninstalling ChatLaunch does not cancel the merchant’s Retell account or delete Retell agents, keys, or transcripts. Those stay with Retell until the merchant changes them there.

Customer data requests and customer redaction webhooks receive a success response. ChatLaunch has no shopper chat records to return or erase. Merchants should complete those requests in Retell if transcripts exist there.

Shopify and third parties

Shopify processes install, OAuth, and theme data under Shopify’s terms. Retell processes chatbot configuration and conversations under Retell’s terms. Our hosting is on Wrk Less infrastructure at chatlaunch.wrkless.com.
